How to add the console

SECTION 1- Adding in the console

#1- Go to the halo icon on your desktop, right click on it, and go down to properties and click it. After clicking properties, a window will show up that has three tabs at the top: GENERAL, SHORTCUT, and COMPATIBILITY. If not already selected, select the SHORTCUT tab.

#2- In this menu there is a text box marked target. In the target window should be something similar to "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo\halo.exe" (unless u customized the folder you installed halo in to).

#3- In order to put the console in halo, you must add this to the target:

After the .exe" put a space and type -console dont forget the space or it will not let u do it. After you have done this, your target window should look something like this.

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo\halo.exe" -console

Now click Ok

SECTION TWO- Bringing up the console

Whenever you are hosting a server, and only when youre HOSTING. You can bring up the console by simply pressing the ` key, located right next to the 1 key, and has a ~ at the top. Just press `. Youll know it came up if you see the some words in the bottom. You cant move or anything while its up. In order to get it off just press the ` key again.

sv_players

List the players and their indices for reference in banning and kicking players from the dedicated server.

EXAMPLE: what happens when you type this command?



NAME PING SCORE KILLS DEATHS

1. (DRS)Leader 33 8 8 5

In order to ban (DRS)Leader, I would type sv_ban 1 into the console

sv_ban [player name or index]

Ban the player with the given name or index. However, this doesn't kick them out of the game.

EXAMPLE: What youd type in the console to ban player one

sv_ban 1

sv_kick [player index or name]

Kick the player with the given name or index out of the game.

(DRS)Leader- The difference between kicking and banning someone is that when you kick someone they can still come back. This is executed just like banning

sv_kick 1

sv_banlist

Show the list of the banned players.

sv_unban [player name]

Allow the player with the given name to join the server again.

ATTENTION: This is for Halo in Devmode only. To activate Devmode, open the properties window of the halo custom edition shortcut. in the target line add -console -devmode (include the spaces before the -'s), then start a game. while in gameplay, press the ~ key (the one directly above tab), type the commands exactly as shown, including the _'s then press enter after each command. This will seperate the camera from the player and make it controllable. Hold the mouse scroll button down to control the camera

Note: When sending messages use the ( _ ) underscore symbol in place of spaces in your message.

Quit Game
Cheat code: quit
